Coming at you live from a mom (and a dad, two kids, a puppy and a cat) in Omaha.
Yes, that's me and my cuties on a swanky couch during a photoshoot last Christmas. My name is Kate White and I am obsessive about making the world a better place.
For the past couple years I've been working a full-time job in technology and trying to launch Third Space Coworking & Childcare on the side. As you can imagine, a business concept centered around a bunch of new babies and their moms occupying the same space every day went on indefinite pause once the pandemic hit.
Like the rest of the world, my family and I navigated the 2020 spring semester balancing remote work and e-learning. (Remember back when we all thought this was going to last a couple weeks and bounce back to normal?) Somewhere around quarantine week 8 I realized that my original business baby had to stay on the shelf and this parenting/teaching thing was not going away any time soon. It's an exhausting set up for parents and I knew I could find a way to make it better. Several bottles of wine and a hundred validation conversations later, TheirSpace was born.
I am excited to be a part of making work/life better for working parents both now and in the new, post-COVID world once we get there. I've been working with a mentor who previously owned a dozen Sylvan Learning Centers around the Midwest, and I left my career in tech to start this company. I can't wait to see where the future of work and education go from here.
